Our Story
Davis Hawn was founded with quality, convenience and customer service in mind. Started in 1923 by Wirt Davis, he envisioned a one-stop shop for lumber, tools and fasteners that would help develop the city of Dallas and make home building materials convenient and easy to access for the growing community. In the 1950s, Joe Verne Hawn joined the business as a co-owner. Today, we are still known for our quality lumber as well as our custom mouldings, radius millwork products, convenient hardware store and complete array of doors, windows, siding, decking and other home improvement products for modern and historic homes.
INTERIORS
Your home is where you hang your hat, and where you spend the majority of your time. It should be functional, beautiful and relaxing. If it’s not, performing a few home upgrades and renovations as either do-it-yourself projects or with the help of a home remodeler can dramatically improve the function and feel of your home. For example, changing the interior paint can help make your home feel more light and airy. Upgrading the windows can help improve energy efficiency while letting in more natural light, and adding decorative mouldings, paneled walls or timbered ceilings can add visual interest.
EXTERIORS
First impressions are everything. What statement do you want your home to make? The exterior of your Texas home is just as important as the interior. When family, friends and neighbors walk up to your home, the front porch, siding, architectural details, front door and windows contribute to your home’s first impression and can make or break the market value of your home as well as its curb appeal. Keeping your home’s exterior updated and adding to its architectural interest via new windows, doors, siding and custom millwork adds visual interest to your home and helps improve the overall appearance of your neighborhood.
