CONTROLLER

Our family of companies are proven leaders in the lumber, building materials, and architectural millwork industries with a strong history of serving the best custom builders, remodelers, and architects in Dallas. We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our team as a full-time controller. This position will work across all the operating companies which include Davis-Hawn Lumber Co., Davis-Hawn Architectural Millworks, LLC, Lynn Floyd Architectural Millwork Inc. and Architectural Carpentry Materials, LLC.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Plan, direct and coordinate accounting functions for multiple companies
  • Work directly with ownership and operating teams to compile and manage vital information helping decision-making for all companies
  • Manage intercompany transactions among the operating entities
  • Manage the inputs, metrics and consolidations of all financial data needed for accurate accounting, decisions and cash management
  • Evaluate accounting tasks and systems, looking to make them continually better and more efficient

What You Will Do:

  • Five or more years of direct accounting experience (B.A./B.B.A in accounting preferred)
  • Good working knowledge of general ledger, business/financial law, and regulatory standards, with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong operational focus and cost accounting experience preferred (inventory management, distribution, retail operations, manufacturing)
  • Experience in privately owned and operated sales, distribution and manufacturing business desired (but not required)
  • Hands on, roll up your sleeves, get it done attitude with proven track record of success

SALES CLERK (Full-time)

HARDWARE COUNTER SALES

The Sales Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service in our retail store, so knowledge of home repair and construction is a plus. You will be assisting customers with a variety of hardware, lumber and millwork needs, including advising them on products and solutions.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) required
  • Energetic and able to multi-task
  • Knowledgeable about construction materials and installation
  • Hardware, plumbing and electrical knowledge a plus

What You Will Do:

  • Welcome customers with a friendly, helpful attitude
  • Engage customers about their projects and direct them to appropriate products
  • Manage point of sale software and process purchases and returns
  • Learn about and refer customers to Davis-Hawn’s specialty teams, like architectural millwork and special order lumber and building materials
  • Answer phone inquiries, stock inventory, keep a neat and safe work environment

SALES CLERK (Part-time)
